Conference: Poster Submission Information
Students are invited to present research posters, with the chance to win a cash scholarship and a speaking opportunity.
Poster Submission Process:
- Register at http://kcbioinformatics.org/conference/register/
- On the registration form, select “YES” to the question: Are you interested in submitting an abstract for a poster presentation?
- After registering, visit https://www.judgify.me/2025NexusInformatics
- Click submit an entry and follow prompts
- The first page will be a registration page
- The second page will be the abstract submission page
Abstract Guidelines
- The abstract should be written in paragraph format and cover the following topics:
- Research question or project goal
- Project background or context
- Methodology or process
- Results or major outcome
- Conclusions about the broader implications of your work
- The body of the abstract must be at least 150 words and no more than 300 words, in a single paragraphwith no headings or citations. Do not list your project title or advisor name in the abstract body (you should include these on your poster, not in the abstract body). You may include co-authors in the abstract.
- The abstract must specify preliminary findings unless you are in the process of collecting data and will have findings/results by April 10, and should be specified in the abstract.
- Abstracts that have been presented at other conferences within the past year are eligible for submission.
- The project title should be no more than 7 words
- The content and style of your abstract should fit the typical format of your field.
Submission deadline: March 27, 2025
- All submitted abstracts from students/trainees will be considered for an on-stage 10 minute presentation opportunity and cash prize award.
- Please provide a faculty contact email address and telephone number at your college or university. They will only be contacted if your abstract is a finalist for on-stage presentation.
- All approved posters not chosen for on-stage presentation will have a 30 second pitch opportunity during breaks and/or lunch.
Poster Session: April 10, 2025 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
- Each poster presenter is allotted a 4-ft. x 4-ft space on bulletin board to use.
- Poster space is not assigned.
- Poster presenters are responsible for printing their own poster.
- Poster presenters must have their poster displayed by 10:30 am on April 10.
- Poster presenters are expected to be present at their poster for the entire 90-minute session.
- Poster presenters will provide a 30-second overview of their research to the entire group of attendees on the main stage.
- Posters should not be removed until April 11 at 12:00 pm.
- Posters that do not follow the guidelines may not be accepted.
- Cash prizes will be awarded to the top posters submitted.
